The picture shows the structure of a falsified IFE Terracotta head ( Fraunhofer Institut Inegrierte Schaltungen ).
Fragments of old material , brighter divide ( TL- measurements resulted in an age of 700-1000 years ) -possibly OLD Bura or - IFE material - were built into the recently modelled head.
Material used for this process consists of grinded pieces of OLD African terracottas ( TL age appr. 700 - 1000 years ) , bound with modern adhesives. |
| CT picture of rstored terracotta figures, IFE head, Part III (see INFO) |
The CT picture ( Fraunhofer Institut Integrierte Schaltungen, Dr. R. Hanke, Mr. Wenzel ) of the IFE clay head clearly shows the place where the head has been touched up, this time in colour. The photograph has been adjusted in such a way that the " critical places" appear in blue; you can see that the tip of the nose has been restored - the inner part of the head has been coated with a clay wash ( different thicknesses of the material are shown in different colours ). |
